Classic J-Pop Vinyl

Before SMAP, before Ayumi Hamasaki, what was Japan listening to on the airwaves back then? It comes by many names: kayou, enka, idol, group sounds, etc, but collectively, it’s all Classic J-Pop to most ears, especially to Andrew Yen, an avid fan of late Showa Era Japanese popular music.

Having been a fan of the genre since 2007 and a collector of vinyl records for even longer, Andrew has decided to combine both interests and amass what may very well be the largest collection of Japanese music on vinyl in the state. Come by to his booth and browse the collection while hearing the sounds that held Japan enthralled in the 60s, 70s and 80s.
